Expanding London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone has improved air quality, report finds

The expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to outer London has been highly effective in reducing the proportion and number of older, more polluting vehicles in Greater London, a report by the Greater London Authority has found.1

The ULEZ expansion has also been associated with a fall in air pollutants and better air quality in outer London, said the report.
