NHS must play its part in improving resident doctors’ working lives, says health secretary

Resident doctors’ discontent over working conditions goes beyond pay, and the NHS needs to become a better employer to tackle these issues, the health and social care secretary has said.

Speaking at the NHS ConfedExpo conference on 12 June, Wes Streeting said he recognised that pay was an important part of resident doctors’ dispute over working conditions but that other issues also needed to be dealt with.
